2015 – 2016 Co ICT Leader – Junior/Middle School
- Led ICT integrated teaching and learning in the Junior School with a Year 1 class – focusing on using a touch screen tv and tablets to promote student learning in a personalised way.
- Using Google Drive – mainly Google Docs (for writing) and Google Slides with juniors (three-way student-led conferences).
- Integrating Mathletics and other apps into classroom practice to support and enhance learning.
- Provided junior teachers with technical support when necessary.
2014 – 2015 Year 5/6 Team Leader
- Led team meetings.
- Carried out team leader responsibilities such as QA attestation, Appraising RTC evidence, proof-reading reports, supporting team members and providing effective communication and leadership.
- Organised syndicate events and timetables across middle and senior teams.
- Organised Talent Development classes for Years 3-6 students.
- Organised supervision rosters for Religious instruction including P4C (Philosophy for Children).
- Organised singing assemblies and assembly rotation timetables for both senior and middle syndicates.
- Lead staff meetings and professional development sessions for staff school wide (whole school, curriculum areas, syndicate teams and individually).
- Organised pick up groups for students needing extra support and extension for accelerated learners in literacy and numeracy.
- Created e-asTTle assessments for reading and mathematics and assisting teachers in facilitating these with their students.
2013-2015 E learning Pilot Teacher
- Began a pilot BYOD class in 2013.
- Supported Ray Kelly (Director of e learning) in creating programmes and trialing the use of devices in a classroom setting.
- Presented e learning updates to the BOT and other presentations to staff and parent information evenings.
- Was apart of the e learning PLD (professional learning development) group and attended monthly meetings.
- Managed an open classroom, allowing principals, teachers and staff from other schools to come and observe our teaching environment.
- Supported staff as they transitioned into an e-learning BYOD class environment.
- Attended necessary PLD such as GAFE and external school visits to Pt England and Taupaki Primary School and ran PLD sessions with staff to ensure they had the basic essentials to start an e learning class.
- Provided ongoing support for students, parents and staff as the demand for BYOD classes grew from two to eight classes over 2 years.
2012 – 2015 Head of Personalised Learning
- Developed and trialed a Personalised Learning Programme with my 2010 Year 5/6 class in the area of Numeracy.
- Aligned Numeracy teaching resources per domain, stage and learning intention.
- Created and updated student and teacher planners, tracking and assessment and introduced this across all curriculum levels of our school.
- Introduced a fixed tumble, teacher workshops per LI and weekly reflections.
- Supported staff in their implementation of a Personalised Numeracy Programme and possible integration into other curriculum areas such as writing.
- Opened my class to observations including external visitors from other schools.
- Offered on-going professional development, support and feed forward to teachers.
- Initiated student led 3 way conferences through the use of power points, prezis, and Googlesites.
2010 – 2015 Numeracy Curriculum Leader
- Organised and led a Maths PLG (Professional Learning Group) with the support of Alison Howard. This included 6 teachers across all curriculum levels of the school. The cycle included these aspects: model, co-plan, co-teach and feedback/feed forward. The first cycle focused on pedagogical practice using the 10 effective numeracy techniques . The following cycles may focus on Academic Talk Moves and Thinking Groups.
- Aligned teacher resources, follow up activities, Mathletics and group box games per domain, stage and learning intention and shared this resource with teachers.
- Organised volunteers to reproduce numeracy wall displays throughout the whole school.
- Created a ‘Knowledge Clowns’ resource to use with students working at knowledge stage 0 – stage 5 (particularly aimed for use with junior school students).
- Created assessment power-points per domain and tracking booklets to promote consistency in assessment across the syndicates.
- Carried out observations and walk-throughs to provide feedback and feed forward, supporting teachers in improving their facilitation of Numeracy.
- Ran support/pick up groups for students ’causing concern’.
- Organised e-AsTTle assessment for stage 7/8 students needing extension.
- Ordered and created resources for numeracy boxes and mathematics shelves.
- Created odd and even strand overview, linked to the NZ Maths website.
- Created a maths Knowledge Net page aligning interactive games per stage and LI for Knowledge. This information is now available on mrskasupene.com
- Attended Lead Numeracy Meetings led by Alison Howard and shared information with staff.
- Attended relevant PLD meetings and conferences.
