Professional Presentations

Over my teaching years, I have been asked to present a variety of educational presentations at team, staff and community level meetings. A few of the presentations are listed below…

  • Professional development sessions and workshops – focused on personalised writing.
  • Pasifika Meetings – open meeting aimed at connecting with the Pasifika parents of the school community. Writing was one of the curriculum areas of interest, raised by Pasifika parents.
  • Teacher Only Day presentations on student reflection cards and next step’s and Valuing Teachers (showing teachers what our kids think of them).
  • Facilitated staff meetings defining ‘Personalised Learning’ and looked at aligning the attributes of a personalised learner in relation to the key competencies. At a following meeting we looked at thinking skills and metacognition.
  • Presented Personalised Learning Pedagogy to ERO (see video here).
  • Presented ‘Running a Personalised Numeracy Programme’ to Mount Roskill’s cluster of Lead Numeracy Teachers.
  • Reported to BOT on establishing an e-learning classroom environment.
  • Presented a Prezi on Personalised Learning at a parent information night.
  • Presented at Marshall Laing’s Numeracy/Meet the Teacher Night, informing parents of available online support and school resources.
  • Co-led a staff meeting on integrating Google +, Google drive and iPad apps into teacher’s classroom programmes.
  • Mathletics for Parents presentation at a Meet the Teacher Evening.
  • Organised a student led presentation aimed at targeting parental misconceptions surrounding e-learning, for parents interested in sending their children into future BYOD classes.
